In December 2005, Tricia Turley was named the Associate Athletic Director for Compliance. Turley comes to UMass after a four-year stint at Northeastern where she served as the Senior Woman Administrator and Associate AD for Compliance and Enrollment Services.

As the Associate AD for Compliance, Turley is responsible for overseeing and maintaining the compliance of all 23 intercollegiate athletic programs (approximately 600 student-athletes) within the Atlantic 10, Hockey East, ECAC and NCAA legislation. She also is responsible for coordinating a proactive NCAA rules education program for UMass faculty, staff, coaches, boosters and student-athletes. One of the primary roles of the position is to implement, control and monitor procedures pertaining to athletic recruiting, eligibility, financial aid, and to interpret NCAA and conference rules.

In her professional time at Northeastern, Turley evaluated academic eligibility for over 550 student-athletes; educated student-athletes, coaches, staff and boosters regarding NCAA, America East Conference and Northeastern University rules, policies and procedures; served as a primary advisor for the Student Athlete Advisory Board and was the CHAMPS/Life Skills Coordinator. In 2003, she was elevated to the athletic department's Senior Woman Administrator position.

Along with her daily duties, Turley also represented Northeastern on the Executive Board of the Women's Basketball Foundation as part of the local organizing committee for the 2006 Women's Final Four which will be held in Boston this April.

Before coming to Northeastern in July of 2001 Turley was an Enforcement Services Intern for the NCAA. With the NCAA she analyzed institutional self-reports for secondary violations, assessed institutional responsibility, and reviewed case precedent to determine the appropriate punitive and corrective actions.

In the summer of 1999, Turley was the Operations/Scouting Intern for the Washington Redskins of the National Football League. With the Redskins she drafted and analyzed contract language during player negotiations. She also evaluated player salaries and recommended methods to create room under the salary cap.

Turley is a 1999 graduate of Cornell University where she received a Bachelor of Science degree in the School of Industrial & Labor Relations. Most recently she earned a Graduate Certificate in nonprofit management from Northeastern University.

Turley is a member of the National Association of Collegiate Women Athletic Administrators and the National Association of Athletic Compliance Coordinators. In 2005, she was honored with the All-American Football Foundation Associate Athletic Director Award.

She is a native of Ilion, N.Y. and now resides in Hatfield, Mass.
